There is never just one...

Cockroaches are nocturnal insects that usually move around at night and in the early morning hours in search of food. If you find cockroaches in your home or workplace during the daytime, there may be a large number of cockroaches hiding in hidden locations on your premises and continuing to breed.

How fast can cockroaches reproduce in my place?

Cockroaches are known for their ability to reproduce rapidly, but the exact breeding rate depends on the species of cockroach and the environmental conditions in which they live. However, cockroaches generally reproduce relatively quickly.

A female cockroach can lay a large number of eggs throughout her life. Depending on the species, one female may give birth to up to 400 offspring.

Why professional cockroach treatment is a must?

Finding cockroaches in your home or business can be very distressing. Cockroaches are known carriers of diseases such as Salmonella, Dysentery & Gastroenteritis, exposure to this pest also poses significant health risks. Increases in eczema and asthma have even been linked to cockroach droppings.

Cockroaches are very tough insects and their ability to breed rapidly makes professional treatment essential to control any infestation.

With a complex life cycle and behavior, expert products and solutions are required to mitigate and manage infestations.

From 1 to 400

Depending on the species, a female cockroach can incubate 150 to 400 offspring during her lifetime which spans from 3-30 months.

Our Cockroach Control Solutions

Insect monitoring units can support the early detection of cockroaches, enabling you to take quick action and control an infestation at the first sign of cockroach activity.

Cockroach baiting stations

Cockroach bait is one of the most common methods of cockroach control and is extremely effective in indoor locations such as residential and commercial kitchens, food handling and preparation areas, hotels and hospitals.

Once a cockroach has fed on bait, it often returns to the nest to defecate. The insecticide-laden feces, fluids and the eventual carcass of the infected roach will contain sufficient residual pesticide to kill other cockroaches in the same nesting site.

Our ExoRoach effective baiting stations have numerous advantages against cockroach infestation:

  • Completely chemical-free
  • Effective against all cockroach species
  • Works 24/7 with monthly service frequency
  • Discreet and concealed trap
  • Large catch capacity
  • Suitable for kitchen and food preparation
  • Pet and child friendly

Cockroach insecticide dust

Dusting is an effective method of cockroach control. The transfer of dust onto cockroach exoskeletons creates a cycle of secondary transmission which occurs through direct contact with, or ingestion of, traces of insecticide dispersed in the environment by contaminated cockroaches.

  • Biodegradable, non-toxic to humans
  • Can be spread by cockroach habit without mass application

Cockroach insecticide spray

Insecticide spray delivers effective treatment of cockroaches while leaving a protective barrier that helps maintain long-lasting cockroach control. Ideal for hard-to-reach cracks and crevices where cockroaches may be harbouring. Toxins in the insecticide not only affect the cockroach that makes contact, but also affects other roaches through secondary transmission by exploiting the cannibalistic nature of cockroaches.

Green Drain™ reduces exposure to hazardous sewer gases and disease-causing pathogens that harbor within drain lines and plumbing systems. Our eco-friendly, preventative solution leads to improved hygiene and environmental health by blocking pest access and preventing virus emissions from waste pipes.

Why are there suddenly so many cockroaches in my house?

There are several reasons why you may suddenly see an increase in the number of cockroaches in your house. Here are some possible causes:

  • Food sources: Cockroaches are attracted to food sources, so if you have left out food or crumbs, or have not properly stored food in containers, this may be attracting cockroaches to your home.
  • Moisture: Cockroaches are also attracted to moisture. If you have leaky pipes, standing water, or high humidity in your home, this can create an environment that is attractive to cockroaches.
  • Clutter: Cluttered areas provide hiding places for cockroaches, making it easier for them to survive and breed.
  • Cracks and gaps: Cockroaches can enter your home through small cracks and gaps in walls, floors, and windows. If these entry points are not sealed, it can make it easier for cockroaches to enter your home.
  • Nearby infestations: If your neighbors have a cockroach infestation, it's possible that they are spreading to your home. Cockroaches can travel through pipes, electrical lines, and other openings to move between homes.
  • Warm weather: Cockroaches are more active in warm weather, so you may see an increase in activity during the summer months.

It's important to identify the cause of the cockroach infestation so you can take appropriate measures to control it. This may include removing food sources, fixing moisture problems, sealing entry points, and using insecticides or traps. If you are having difficulty controlling the infestation, consider contacting a pest control professional for assistance.

What to do if you see a cockroach?

Firstly, take a deep breath and resist the urge to panic. Instead, try to identify the type of cockroach you're dealing with, as different types may require different treatment methods. Once you've figured out what you're dealing with, it's time to clean up. Cockroaches are attracted to food and moisture, so make sure to clean up spills, crumbs, and standing water to reduce their attraction to your home.

Next, seal any entry points that cockroaches may be used to sneak into your home through small cracks and gaps in walls, floors, and windows. This will help prevent further infestation. You can also use traps to monitor and control the infestation, placing them in areas where you've seen the little buggers and disposing of them regularly.

If things have gotten out of hand and you're still seeing these creepy crawlies despite your best efforts, it may be time to consider using insecticides. However, use these with caution and follow the instructions on the label. If you're unsure about what to do, consider contacting a pest control professional for assistance. They can identify the type of cockroach, recommend treatment options, and help control the infestation.

How much does cockroach control cost?

Your cockroach control costs will ultimately reflect the time and effort it will take to manage them in your home or business. The first step in determining the cost of cockroach control is fully understanding the problem. What attracts cockroaches in your home? Why do cockroaches suddenly appear? How do cockroaches gain access to the building?

To answer all the above questions, Rentokil will need to visit your property to inspect for cockroaches. Following this, the below factors will determine the most suitable cockroach treatment and its associated costs.

Size of premises

The larger the property, the more time required to successfully locate and treat the cockroach problem. This will have an effect on the cost of the treatment.

Type of treatment

The treatment required to address the cockroach infestation will relate to the overall costs of the service. There may be a need to combine cockroach control treatments methods and use them in conjunction with each other, whilst other times one method may suffice.

Number of treatments

Sometimes cockroach management requires multiple treatments for successful control. This can be reflected with the pricing of the cockroach control service.

The severity of cockroach infestation

The size and extent of the cockroach infestation in your home or business affect the costs of the cockroach treatment service. Problem cockroaches are often perceived as those that have established residence within a property. They are commonly soldier cockroaches on a mission to return to their nest with food supply.
