GFSTF is initiated by The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) as a platform to foster closer engagement and collaboration among the industry and academia in strengthening capacity building in food safety. In addition to learning and discussing how the food industry can better respond by strengthening food legislation and standards using scientific risk-based approaches, increasing capacity and technical competency. 

Plenary speeches feature prominent officials and leaders of intergovernmental and international organizations, regulatory bodies, governments, industry and academia who also have a macroscopic exchange on advancing food safety from a global perspective, with the aim of facilitating the sharing of the most imminent trends and issues on food safety. We have the privilege to have invited Dr. Keiji Fukuda, Assistant Director-General - Health Security of the World Health Organization (WHO) to deliver the keynote plenary speech.
